Cruise to the Prom is a charity Volkswagen show where all VW types are welcome to join us on the Beach Lawns at Weston Super Mare. Our nominated charity for 2025 is the amazing Weston Hospicecare. Vehicle entry to the lawns is for VW’s only and costs £8* in advance or £10 on the gate for the day per vehicle – you can have as many passengers as you can legally fit in your vehicle for no extra charge. Vehicles can remain parked on the lawns until 4pm when the show closes.
The lawns will open to the public from 9:30am where we will have club displays, relevant traders, show merchandise, hot & cold food & drinks, ice cream and other activities. Please note that pedestrian entry is by donation only to comply with our license from the council – occupants of vehicles on the show fields will not have to pay this.
You may either come straight to the lawns or join the official cruise to the event and rock up with up to 200 VW’s in convoy, details of which are below and posted within the event on Facebook.
We have some amazing event sponsors – thank you to Simply Surf Bus, Bristol Detailing Supplies, Impact Flags, Majestic Wood Design, GP Campers and Aspire Competitions with more to be announced soon.
We are also delighted to announce that we have assembled an awesome media team for CTTP ’25 – event photographers Bee Alicia Photography, CXPTR and B.Goz Automotive will be snapping and videoing the day for us.
Starting point is Sanders Garden Centre on the A38 – TA9 4HJ. Arrive any time between 8:15 & 9:15, please have your tickets handy on your phone (or printed) on arrival to help speed up registration. The Cruise will leave at 9:30 and head in to Weston to the Lawns. If you wish to take part in the Cruise then you need to purchase a Sanders Cruise & Lawns Parking ticket as Cruise spaces are limited.
Remember that the Cruise is optional – if you would prefer to go directly to the Lawns then please do so!
CTTP has always been about the love or dream of owning a VW and as an event we recognise this with our Pride of Ownership awards – these won’t necessarily go to the shiniest, most expensive VW’s on the field, our awards are all about the love, passion and the effort people have put in to and have for their Dubs. Remember that judging takes place across the entire event site and not just our primary club lawn, so if you have come along in your VW then you could be going home with a trophy! Our categories will be:
Each winner will receive a hand crafted trophy. Additionally, the winner of the Spirit of Clive Award will also be asked to lead the following years Cruise.
Pride of Ownership winners will be announced on the hard standing area at 2:30pm. All winners must be present at the presentation to receive their awards.
We are changing how we administer clubs this year. Club admin’s will need to contact us to pre-book club stands and will be responsible for making payment in advance via PayPal or bank transfer for all club members attending. Club admins will then receive a pack with wristbands for all drivers and any final information. Each club will receive their own arrival timeslot between 8:15 & 9:15am and we operate an arrive together to park together policy due to licensing and insurance conditions. We cannot hold space on club stands for late comers.
There is a selection of merchandise in the shop on the website which will also be available at Vee Dub Family meets and events in the run-up to the show. Our merchandise is produced locally by LlamaPrint who make a donation for every item sold to our charity total. We will also have a limited amount of items available to purchase on the day of the event.
Be sure to keep yourselves up to date with everything Cruise to the Prom ’25 related by following us on social media – you can find us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Mark yourselves as ‘going’ on the 2025 Facebook event so you don’t miss any announcements or updates.
Our show is open to everyone, even those who don’t own a Volkswagen. Due to our licensing conditions, if you are looking to visit the show but not driving a VW you will need to park along Marine Parade or on the beach and pay the normal North Somerset Council parking charge via the MiPermit app or to the attendants and then enter via one of our pedestrian gates where you will need to make a donation to the charity in exchange for entry.
